Within this video we take you to the breathe taking region of Central Idaho were we explore the Sawtooth Mountains. While here we take several hikes amongst trails that are filled with summers first blooms of wild flowers. We also explore the town and Lucas and Jeff meet up with a local guide for some fly fishing.
In this video we visit a park little know outside of those living in Idaho. A park built around magnificent sand dunes. A secret location know to locals that has so much to offer, including fishing stocked lakes, hiking or climbing atop the nearly 500 ft dunes, viewing the milky way, or sledding down hundreds of feet of sand.
No matter your preference, you’ll bound to get a face full of fun..
Our last stop before leaving Utah is a Capital Reef National Park. This is the second biggest of the states parks and has the unique feature of a waterpocket fold. What is that you ask, well, you'll need to watch the video to find out. One thing is for sure, the beautiful sights to photograph are endless and the sunsets are simply works of art.
Our travels take us to Lassen Volcanic National Park. A park of extreme contrasts, mixing tranquility and extraordinary beauty with a past, and perhaps future, of biblical levels of destruction.
Within this visit our hikes take us to several picturesque reflection pools, to an alpine lakes, while also putting us in the path of a violent storm and one of the wildest drives home we’ve ever taken!
But from we must travel from central Idaho to in the southern most reaches of the Cascades mountains in Northern California.
In this video we travel to Escalate Utah, where we visit the breathe taking Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument. A long name for a park that is long on adventure and excitement. In this video we hike to a beach party that's held under a waterfall. In our next hike we hike to a pair of beautiful box canyons. To top this off we catch a pristine 1927 Model-A tooling along at 50 MPH!
Our Daughter and Son-in-Law come to visit with us while we are in Utah. During this time we visit two of Utah's big five National Parks. The first is Bryce Canyon. Winters snow is still present in the park and this makes the sights even more incredible. Follow along as we take in Bryce Canyon during it's 100th year as a national Park.
Zion is the third most visited of our National Parks and for good reason, the breath taking colors, rugged canyons, inspiring cliffs and exhilarating waterfalls and rivers ignite deep emotional responses from everyone who travels to this amazing landscape. Join us as we travel to Zion and Kobob Canyons.
We make a late spring visit to Mesa Verde National Park which is still largely closed down due to much of the park is still impacted by winters snow pack. With few other visitors we have nearly exclusive access to the incredible cliff dwellings and to hike the Petroglyph Point trail. This short hike is not for the faint of heart, but the returns for this effort is sensational. We get a close up look at the amazing Petroglyph Point Panel.
This is our third visit to Petrified Forest National Park and we venture off the beaten path. We visit the Agate House, which is a restored ancient house built out of Petrified wood! We also take a little known hike, Martha's Butte hike, and get close-up views of ancient petroglyphs. We'll also stop at the historic Desert Inn and taken in the many breathe taking views of the Painted Desert, including the Blue Mesa.
Since swapping our bricks and sticks for full-time RVings, the one constancy to our travels has been the vast difference of our adventures. We have found that the best experiences are those which surprise us. Our stay at Homolovi State Park delivered this; it was everything we’d imaged our new RVing lifestyle would be. Amazing sunsets, hiking, wildlife sightings, and incredible ranger led presentations.
Join us as we hike the AMAZING Needles region within the Canyonlands National Park. Canyonlands is a massive park and one of Utahs big five national parks. Follow us as we visit the region of this park known as "The needles". It offers some of the best of what the Colorado Basin is known for. In this video we show you where we base our travels from, what other options are available and then we take you on a 7.5 mile hike through the heart of the Needles.
